Sex Stereotype: Shy Girls are Wild in Bed
Who knows where this stereotype came from, but it sure is one of my favorites. You probably all know it: the nerdy, quiet, shy girl at the party is the one you should be trying to pick up because she knows all the right moves when it's time to get down and dirty. She completely transforms into a sex machine when you bring her back to your place and regular girls just can't keep up.
But how true is the stereotype? Wouldn't it be harder to actually pick up a shy girl or is the challenge just part of the fun? Couldn't giving her attention she's not used to getting scare her away instead of wooing her? Or maybe she'd actually be more willing to go to bed with you because she's getting the extra attention she secretly craves and never gets...
What do you think? Have the guys out there in Mancouch land had any experience with shy girls? I bet some of our shy female readers have something to say about it too.

I'm horribly shy, but then I get pretty wild when I start feeling comfortable around people. But wild in bed? I wouldn't know; haven't gotten to that point—yet.

Eh I wouldn't say so. I really cannot imagine any of my shy friends being wild in bed at all; I imagine them laying there wondering when the guy's going to make his next move.
As for myself, I'm not outgoing at all, but I'm not the hermit who looks down every time she walks either. I never initiate anything physical unless I've been waiting for months and haven't gotten as far as I'd like to, and I'm more submissive than dominant in bed.
hahahaha, yes. my friends always mess with me "it's always the quiet ones!" and give me a look. i am shy [; but taken. hahahaha. this stereotype is true :P

yes! this is my favorite stereotype. you ever see a shy, quiet, girl who's pretty good looking(especially with glasses) and you're like, "she's pretty hot in a quiet librarian kind of way." let's just hope she's not like the librarian in tomcats... or maybe you do.
It seems like all the girls that have commented thus far, agree and like this stereotype, probably because they ARE the shy girls. I doubt any of them knows for a fact though, that they're good in bed. Take for instance "karmalovesyou".
Well, Mancouch, you just provided me with my next target at a party. Consider this research. You know, to crack the case and all.

hmmm...ive got the glasses and the GPA while my bf has the markings to prove it.
Interestingly, I've found this stereotype to be true. In fact, I didn't even know it was a stereotype until later on. I noticed that my quieter girlfriends tended to be the wilder ones and joked about it once to my buddies, and they were like "of course man, everyone knows that."
I think the stereotype that the shy ones are hard to get is actually the myth, but that's another story.
I'm shy as hell, but I'm a fucking dominatrix in bed- well, minus the hxc bondage and shit. Like jtia@xanga.com said- I've got the GPA, and my boyfriend has the markings to prove it.

It wouldn't apply to everyone. I'm shy and like to get intimate in the dark. Go figure.
I would like to say you can't judge a girl by her outward appearance, and shyness/glasses have nothing to do with sexual prowess.... and as for the women I've slept with- the girls who have been the craziest/best in bed have also been insane in some way and previously/currently medicated. The best lays have ALWAYS been from people who are passionate about bringing others to orgasm.

Well, the shy girl that I had sex with was eager but I wouldn't go so far as saying wild. The other girl was far from being shy, and definitely wild/kinky in bed. Both were nerdy. That's all the sexual experience I've had with women, though, so I can't determine any trends from those two people.
As for me personally, I'm ridiculously nerdy but not shy (although people mistakenly call me that if they don't know me; I'm just really quiet), and I'm wild in bed. And very talented, if I do say so myself.

blame it on the al-al-al-alcohol...every girl is just looking for the right man to unlock her inner "sexual being" (less pc synonyms include "slut"). if she says, "i don't normally do this," while you're hooking up, she just means she doesn't normally do this with you.

I would say no in my experience. I don't know about shy girls but conservative girls are really self-conscious and rarely do anything wild.
This is true in my case. My boyfriend can attest to that ;)
