I've always loved the chair owned by Frasier Crane's dad, Martin:
In the pilot episode, Frasier and his dad had a blowout fight over whether or no Martin's chair is allowed in the fancy apartment. All of Frasier's other furniture looks beautiful... but only Martin's Barcalounger is comfortable.
In all my years on this planet, I have never seen a beautiful chair or sofa that's also comfortable. They're always comfortable *or* beautiful... but never both.
If I had to choose between looks and comfort, I will choose comfort every time (in my chairs, at least). I believe every man deserves a comfortable chair. Every woman deserves one too, but for some reason they often buy the beautiful chairs instead! I would love to hear from men and women out there that prefer a comfortable chair over a beautiful one!
What about you: is your couch or chair comfy? And have you ever experienced the Holy Grail of a comfortable *and* good lookin' chair or sofa?

I have a thing for classic, wing chair. In real leather. Preferably by a fireplace.
I don't mind having a golden ornate throne too.
I like a comfortable sofa by the telly. With a remote nearby.
I have a comfortable computer chair i sit in, it costs a lot...I can fall asleep in it if I want.

my grandpa always has the best recliners. one wears out, a new one, just as comfy takes its place. (but no one must sit there when he comes home)
I think it should just be about the comfort. I dont really understand why most women want every piece of furniture to match. I think having diffrent styles gives the room more personality. If a chair is "beautiful" but not comfortable I dont see the point in buying it.
gotta go for comfort, but if you can find a good looking chair thats comfy you win big. my friend had a huge leather chair that looked great but wasn't very comfortable, until it got worn out of course, then it was the most comfortable chair ever. now that its finally comfortable it also looks like crap.
COMFORT.
i always go to my friends house, (a guy, obviously) and i love sitting on his couch. it's nice and big and comfy, and multiple people can fit on it at once. i loveee it.
i remember when i had to sit on some old wooden stool which drive me nuts but then i got a nice leather office chair and its really comfortable. i would definitely go for the comfort, but as long as it doesn't smell or anything :P
