There are very few things guys are certain about in life; jobs,
ESPN, and cars. But when it comes to dating and marriage, many of us are on the fence.
We don't make a commitment because of fear or lie to avoid dealing with awkward and difficult topics.
We also don't like to deal with drama, so the next time a guy says the following lines, take it with their meanings, and try not to dig deeper.
When we tell a girl we're dating, can we just be friends or let's be friends?
The real meaning: You're great, but not hot enough. I'd like you to stick around just in case in some some crazy way, you become hot again.
And if the above should work, then the next line is: "We should all go out sometime", meaning me and your hot friend. You can tag along if you like.
Sometimes when we're stuck in a rut, we'll call up someone or IM them and tell them, "I haven't heard from you in a long time."
The real meaning? We haven't had sex in a while and I'm looking to score soon, so are you available?
Finally when we decide to get serious, we're still kind of scared for our lives, so we say "I really like you". Of course any guy knows the real meaning behind it. It really means, "I think I'm in love with you but I'm scared as hell because once I say the real words, I can never take them back."
So you see, guys aren't so bad. We just don't want to hurt women by telling them the truth because god forbid some guy did, his head would be on a platter. And we don't want any heads chopped off do we?
What are some other lines guys say to avoid hurting a girl or dealing with a confrontation?

not only guys..but i do that sometimes too. then i end up leading the guy on for stupid reasons. then i turn him down. & then i get the bad rep.
i don't understand why you guys just can't be honest and why us girls have to do all the leg work only to find that you weren't honest with us from the beginning?
Breaking up right before college because of "distance" part... Actually it was because he didn't want to be tied down through college, and be free to do whatever he wanted with whomever he wanted...
well, what if we just tell each other what we really wanted to say, straight-out, won't that make like easier?
This is bullshit.
@mewithoutu77@xanga -
@cherrie_heart03@xanga - Girls have to meet us halfway too. If girls didnt' freak out all the time when we tell it like it is, then we would have no need for these lines. We lie out of necessity, not because we enjoy it. If 100 % of men were honest 100% of the time, nobody would ever get laid.

Promises made for convenience
Whatever, you think you're the shit for this, but girls do this crap all the time too. They're just not usually into the subtlety, because guys can't HANDLE subtlety.
I do all of the above. And I'm not a guy. I think this can work both ways.
This did not make men look good at all. This actually made it seem like you think all men are sleeze balls who only care about looks and sex.
I hope this was a joke post. I absolutely hate being lied to, and I know from experience that I get over the truth faster than being lied to. So this is bull shit.
Just be honest. Also if you don't want to date a girl just because she isn't that "hot" anymore you are definitely not worth the time.
If you think you're going to piss a woman off by telling them the truth, you'll piss them off even more when they find out what a despicable liar you are.
I don't like guys who play around like this. It's a waste of time.
@coolmonkey@xanga - oh so it's about getting laid? lol...you get laid and then what happens? i'm just giving you hard time. i don't think us girls give you guys such a hard time, we just want you to open up to us instead of beating 'round the bush. if you just want to get laid, be upfront about it, there are girls who are comfortable with that, if you want more, tell us, if you want less, tell us.
@rzimmerman08@xanga - so true, happens too many times.
@coolmonkey@xanga - getting laid is the only reason. thats not so hard to get. there is no reason to lie to girls to get laid. thats some bs. if u have to lie to get laid, u have some serious issues.
@KasumiCelesta@xanga - so true. it is a waste of time. and the lie just makes things worse.
so the whole point of this blog is that your telling us that guys are a bunch of pussies? stupid lame panzy-ass chickens. man up damn it.
this blog pisses me off.
i fucking hate liars.
men are fucking disgusting.
so are women.
whoever wrote this post is a fucking douche! guys can be honest, what he meant was that pussy ass losers like him can't be honest. if i say ''we should just be friends'', what i mean is that we should just be friends, not that you're ugly and i wanna do your hot friend. thats a game for little adolescent boys to play.
Most guys I know are brutally blunt. Which earns them the nickname "jerk," but sometimes the truth is a refreshing opinion. Even if their opinions seem shallow and immature, everyone has more than one side to them.
"i really like you" is starting to not mean anything to alot of guys anymore. It's really another trick to get girls in bed, so that girls "think" the guys are into them.
uh wow i was hoping this was going to turn out to be a joke
ur a real d-bag has anyone told you?
this is why i'm through with crap like this
everybody lies okay?
get it in your head. and realize that they're lie-ing don't believe them. i don't trust anybody. because people are fucking liars.
Here's the thing...all these little indifferent signals and masked bullshit ends up getting annoying and that's why most of us will flip out once we know what's really up. Who has time for that kiddie crap? You're either in or out. So why not just cut to the chase and be a jerk so we can move on?
However!
If we really don't care for you either, we women can be just as hidden and mellow and move on to someone else. =D I've done it myself a few times.
