Superheroes: Who Do You Think Of First?

I've been going at it with a friend of mine the last few days about who comes to mind when someone mentions superhero. (It's a really stupid discussion but everyone has one of these at some point)

I said Superman is the first person that comes to mind. I mean, the guy already has super in his name, so it's pretty easy.

My friend on the other hand thinks Batman is first person that comes to mind.

We haven't come to a conclusion yet. I'm a big Superman fan while he loves the Dark Knight.

So what do you think? If someone said superhero to you, who's the first one that comes to mind?

I first thought of Superman. Not sure why. Maybe it is because "super" is in his name. But the second person I thought of was Batman. haha.

I thought of superman first, but that's actually a bad think- I don't really like Superman at all and thinking of him spoils the whole word "Superheroes." I like Batman way better.

Batman! He's "super" without having any alien powers to help him out.
I will admit, though, that Superman would probably be the more traditional response. Before Batman was sort of renewed through the movies, for instance...I still would've said Batman, but I think a lot fewer people would've.
