  • 5 Things Women Try To Change About Men But Never Can

Women have an innate habit to want to change a man.

Well ladies, it's tough to change a man when he's already been doing the same thing for years. But keep trying, you never he MIGHT budge.

Here's 5 things guys will always do that women can't change.

    5. Not Changing Shirts

Most guys would agree, we all have that one shirt we love and will not want to take off.  It's usually a shirt with a saying or picture of something that makes no sense but we still love it.

    4. Channel Surfing

This is a big one and we love it. Unless there's a string of hilarious commercials we have to see, there's no point in us sitting there watching crap when we can watch a game/movie on a different channel.

    3. Farting/Burping/Making Noises

We're guys, it's what makes us laugh and stay sane after having to deal with emotional women all day

    2. Won't Do Anything When We're Sick

Come on, we're usually the ones that have to go out and make a living, (although that's not the case all the time, most guys provide more often than their counterpart). So it wouldn't hurt to take care of us when we're sick.  Oh and we deal with your crap every single day of the week.  When you yell we can't yell back, so this is our way of getting back at you. (This and cheating, but cheating is on the extreme end. That comes into play when we absolutely have no choice left).

    1. Not Listening

Women are right when they say guys don't listen. Here's the truth, we don't listen because you repeat the same stuff over and over again.  Plus what difference will it make if we give you an opinion. You'll just say "hmmm no!" and do your own thing anyway. So by listening, we're wasting our time, and yours too if you think about it.

Are these some characteristics women shouldn't try to change about a man? Has your girl/wife tried to change you in anyway? What are some other things women try to change about a man?

Just "change" in general is too hard for them. Weirdos. Jk. If you can't change them... join 'em :P

My boyfriend doesn't fart around me, and he totally listens to what I say. But, he is guilty of doing the channel changing thing, and of doing absolutely nothing when he's sick.

  • godofthelost@xanga

Hmm, strange... These don't really apply to me.

    Except for burping.  :P

I'm actually fine with the not changing shirts & taking care of him when he's sick :P The rest... not really.

vum, my boyfriend changes his clothes so often o_o
& taking care of him when he's sick, it's more like Quality Time :)

I would never try to "change" my boyfriend.  If I wanted him to be different I wouldn't have chosen to start a relationship with him in the first place.

I think in a committed relationship, though, there is always room for growth for both the guy AND the girl.  We can do our best to encourage each other in the right path, work on our downfalls and bad habits, and just have a positive influence on each other's lives.

You shouldn't try to make someone into a different person, but there's nothing wrong with growing together.  And sometimes relationships require sacrifice.  Now this could mean either he's willing to give up his annoying channel surfing (for example) just because it would make her happy---OR it could mean she decides to let it go and put up with the minor annoyance because it makes him happy.  Both are reasonable solutions.

oohhh so that's why guys won't do anything when they're sick, it's not the "big baby" thing lol

    So true.

I don't think a woman should EVER try to change a man and the same goes for men changing women. If you love someone, you'll accept them for who they are, and grow with them, instead of being possessive and overruling to get your own way.

Actually, I disagree with all of this.  Sounds like my roommate and it drives me crazy (minus the shirt thing which I could care less about)

  • sainara@xanga

number 3 (burping/farting/making noises) - does this mean guys naturally doesn't have good manners?!

  • TheSpaceBass@xanga

I have come to accept these about my significant other. I love him the way he is. (:

i'm okay with all except for two, the sick part and the not listening part.  i hate it when my fiance is sick, he orders me around like i'm his mother and he acts like the biggest baby.  i would mind taking care of him when he's sick, but don't order me around.  and the not listening part, i can't stand that.  when i'm talking to him on the phone, he's talking to one of his employees or messing around with them.  wtf?? if you just listen once, i won't have to repeat myself over and over again.  not too hard.

Hm... I think only the farting thing applies to my boyfriend. He doesn't listen if he's playing video games though, which I know so I don't expect him to listen. And I take too much care of him when he's sick. He tells me he's okay, but when he has a fever I don't believe it.

as long as he is super cute, I don't mind the B.O., I'll just wear those scuba diving nose plug; I don't really watch t.v. so he can hog the t.v. all he wants; I can heat some chicken soup in the microwave for him when he is sick-I'm a natural born chef and as for the listening I don't mind that but he has to at least make a very cute face while pretending to listen to my rants.

  • saraxqt@xanga

the last one is SO fuckin true.

  • Ms_Fat_Pinkie@xanga

DAMN! am I a guy? all this applies to me... well.. except number 3... eww... guys do really do this... but we laugh it off... nyahahaha

  • Amayahuu@xanga

I think for number 2, you need to add that guys REFUSE to go to the doctor! My boyfriend, dad, brother and guy friends are all like this.  My boyfriend actually has some serious health issues, so I figured he would WANT to go to the doctor to keep them under control....but apparantly not.

I spend weeks trying to convince him to call in and make appointments, but in the end I'm always the one calling in and then dragging him by the hair to the patients room, with him yelling about how he refuses to go the whole time.My mom does the same to my dad. My brothers wife does the same to him.:)
  • Amayahuu@xanga

and thank GOD...my boyfriend isn't the burping/farting type.  I've never really heard him do either.

I DO know a few girls who do this though...

  • StargazingSuzie@xanga

@Amayahuu@xanga - I sooo know what you mean. My boyfriend is always complaining of some health issues which some could be pretty serious but he just won't go to the doctor about it, so I think I'm gonna have to call him an appointment the next time he complains.

my boyfriend doesn't burp really, but he does fart and bursts out laughing. It was funny the first couple of times now it's just beyond stupid.

Every time I read anything on mancouch or datingish, it makes me so appreciative of the man I have. :)
