If you haven't heard by now, Apple has come out with a new redesigned iPod Shuffle, which looks like this:
I've read tons of comments on the product this morning. Some complained without physical buttons on the device (all the buttons are now on the earphones), the iPod would be useless if you were to lose the earphones.
But others love the new design, saying the buttons on the earphones make it easier when working out and/or running.
What I personally love about the new shuffle is its ability to talk to you, (there's no screen on the shuffle). It speaks in 14 different languages in case you have songs that are foreign.
It'll tell you the name of playlists and songs by pressing one of the keys attached to the earphones.
Will you be getting the new iPod shuffle 4GB in the slim form factor or are you satisfied with your current device?

Hey, cool! Even my girlfriend can't do that.
No, my iTouch is just fine. =]
I've never been a fan of the Shuffle format. Actually I prefer other MP3 players to iPods, mostly because I hate iTunes and I haven't found any decent software that works well with the iPod. I have an 80gb iPod Video but prefer my 16gb Sansa. I'd really like to get the 16gb Samsung bluetooth enabled player.
They still make the shuffle? hmm...interesting.
Wow this thing is retarded.
How do you go back a track to relisten to the same song?
What happens if you want to use better headphones? How do you navigate?
I own both a 2G shuffle and a 4G nano, I've previously owned a 5G ipod video and and iphone. But this is probably the worst ipod design I've ever seen.
works for me. i mean i have all kinds of songs in other languages and that really helps. the only problem is that i have a 30GB and i love it, so i would probably not get one.
I have never been a fan of the Shuffle. I think it's good for the purposes of using while working out, but that's about it.
Eh, i'm not a big shuffle fan. Every sense the problems with the first gen shuffle I haven't bought one sense.
Don't want.
I think this is interesting and has neat new features... but for now until things become more advanced technology wise meaning the bugs, I will stay with my ipod touch which I love. [=
Sounds difficult and annoying. What if the earphones blew out? How about just making a remote? I would imagine the replacement earphones would be pricey. And there is no screen....?! Yeah, not for me.
Besides itunes is the worst
I have a 4G nano, and I'm quite happy with it. I also broke the earphones (and bought cheap $10 replacements), so I'm glad the controls aren't on it. I prefer the controls on the player itself, because I can keep it in my pocket and change the song without having to take my hands out of my pockets when it's cold out.
the hell why would you want 4gb of random music
It seems unconventional. =\
No thanks.
This is so unnecessary, and replacing the headphones is going to be quite an expense. Headphones really don't last that long, even if you do take good care of them.
I like my nano (the new one) just fine.
well i don't even really use my third gen 8gb nano....i'm actually trying to sell it at the moment because i really have no use for it anymore! so noooo i won't be getting the new shuffle! (looks like shit too)
<3
I like my Touch...a shuffle with no buttons will never compare to it. Although if I was able to purchase the headphones and have the best of both worlds that'd be great.
No, thank you. That sounds completely ridiculous. What if you lose the headphones? What if you don't like them or find them uncomfortable? What if they break? That's just... dumb.
For the record, I do not nor have I ever owned an iPod. I have a Creative Zen. And it's wonderful.
It doesn't sound too appealing. But I do plan on getting a nano sometime soon. my ipod's a bit old.
u need an adapter if u want 3rd party headphones. So if you dont have apple's headphones you're out of luck unless u buy a $20 dongle.
Also, have u seen the instructions for using it?

Apple needs to get past their fascination with minimal buttons. SOMETIMES MORE BUTTONS IS GOOOOOD
Nope. My Nano is all I need.
I love my Sansa e280 - 8gb for $50?!!! You can't beat that!
mehh.
That is stupid. Like everyone else, I agree that the earphone thing is a terrible idea. Personally, my ears are too small for earbuds to stay and so I would be shit outta luck with that thing. Furthermore, the shuffle was made as a small, inexpensive alternative for the person who just wanted to carry a few songs around with them without the hassle of CDs and whatnot. This design undermines the original purpose of the product.
Personally, I LOVED my first gen mini iPod. It didn't have the color screen or anything, but it did what I needed it to do and lasted for 4 years before my own abuse ended its life. It was durable and large enough that I didn't worry about breaking it (like with the new nanos and this pathetic little shuffle), but it was also small enough that I could keep it in my pocket easily. I now have a 60gb iPod video. Its nice, but I still miss my mini.
