Comic book movies have been on the rise for the past few years. Some have been amazing, (
Spider Man 2, X-Men 2,
Iron Man, Dark Knight) but a lot of them have failed.
We decided to list the 10 Comic Book movies that shouldn't have been made.
10.
The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
It was such a horrible movie. Did the studios think young kids were going to see a bunch of literary characters save the planet. No freakin way! Oh yeah Sean Connery and
Monk was in it. I'm pretty sure they don't want anyone to know that.
9.
Elektra (2005)
This was a bad idea the moment Daredevil was released (see below). Jennifer Garner can kick ass (Alias) but everything about this movie was trash.
8.
Daredevil (2003)
I thought this had a chance when it was released but then I saw the movie and wished for my money back. Ben Affleck in a red suit and Colin Ferrell acting like an idiot with a bulls eye on his forehead, so sad (shakes head).
7.
The Hulk (2003)
Anyone who saw this movie had to agree it sucked. I mean the Hulk is supposed to be full of rage like the stupid Hulk dogs, only he was full of emotion, crying and feeling the wind as he literally flew through the air.
6.
Spider Man 3 (2007)
This might get some people pissed but it was not the way to end the trilogy (Spider Man 4 & 5 are in the works, so maybe not). It seemed like Peter Parker was crying more than Mary Jane and what was up Spidey going emo. This movie had so much potential.
5.
Superman IV (1987)
I'm a huge Superman fan, so this hurts to say, but this movie was a piece of trash that should have never been made. Fake Times Square, a silly script and nuclear man, who tries to kill Supes with his nails? Please! If Christopher Reeves is ashamed of this movie, then so am I.
4.
Batman & Robin (1997)
This fruity colored movie, starring some of the biggest names in Hollywood, almost destroyed the Batman franchise. Thank God Christian Bale came along to reboot the franchise or else all would have been lost.
3.
Fantastic Four (2005)
One of the greatest cartoon and comic book series was turned into PG 13 crap. The movie would have been better if Jessica Alba were allowed to walk around naked the whole time, but nooooo they had to make her invisible.
2.
Steel (1997)
All you need to know is Shaq was in the movie. That's how bad it was.
1.
Catwoman (2004)
Halle Berry's career was hanging by a thread after making this movie. Halle Berry, as gorgeous as she is, dressed in tight leather couldn't even save this movie.
Have you seen any of the movies above? Did you like any of them?

I agree with most of those choices.
But I did like fantastic four. It wasn't a great movie mindyou, but it was enjoyable.
Of the rest I've seen, I didn't really like them...
...but I'm going to have to stick by The Hulk -- first, because I'm a rabid Danny Elfman fan, and his music rocks in this movie, as in all of his (that would be Spider-Man 3's only redeeming value, in my mind); second, because I generally thought it more quirky than "wrong" or "bad."
For the record, I liked "The Incredible Hulk" just as much. I think they both have a place in "Hulk" history. ("Batman & Robin," however, should have just never existed.)
Can't say I liked any of those; although Spider-Man 3 was at least a bit tolerable for me.
I enjoyed League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I didn't know anything about the comic. I just thought it was fun.
Fantastic 4 was pretty entertaining, even if it wasn't a great piece of cinematic genius.
But the rest of them I will pretty much agree. Daredevil was a waste of my life, and I never went near elektra with a ten foot pole. There are some things Jennifer Garner can't even pull off.
I did like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...but then again, I HAVE read and/or studied most of those novels.
I thought the idea of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was cool and there were some neat scenes, but the execution could have been better.
Steel was by far the worst movie i ever saw. the dude has alir under a pile of garbage!!!!
I actually liked LXG. I think it was because the heroes were people I never expected to be heroes of that sort. I thought it was creative. :shrugs:
I did like Fantastic Four. Haven't seen most of the others
(did see Spidey 3 but really? In 2 Mary Jane was all "go save the world, it's your duty, you sexeh spiderman" and now she's changed her attitude to "you skipped our date to save five orphans from a burning building! how could you?!" It was realllllly annoying.)
I thoroughly enjoyed Fantastic Four, and I don't think Hulk was nearly as bad as people have said. Not great, but better than the other eight movies on this list, and also better than a lot of comic-inspired films NOT on this list. The other eight are pretty awful, although I did enjoy Thomas Haden Church's portrayal of Sandman in Spider-man 3. It was that film's only redeeming quality.
I thought spiderman three was perfect for the end of the trilogy. It sucked just as much as 1 and 2 did.
I agree with that last one, utter dissapointment with CatWoman I know I cant get those 140min of my life back haha
Elektra really, really sucked.
Those were ALL horrible but I watched them ALL being the marvel fan that I am (sigh).
LXG was good. The Hulk wasn't as bad as everyone says.
Other than that, I can see your points.
I liked LXG and Dare Devil.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was so, so bad.
and I hate the emo spidey. what's up with that? superheroes aren't supposed to be whiney.
<3
#9 and #8 came to mind right away just on the title.
fantastic IV was horrible, horrible, horrible. silver surfer just as bad.
get ready for spiderman IV
Yeah, Spiderman 3 was a disappointment. So was The Hulk. Sad, sad. But I did enjoy Fantastic Four.
The all wern't that great, but at I honestly enjoyed dare devil the first time I watched it.
i agree with your number one choice, especially, but some of the other ones i disagree on
Only one I disagree with is Fantastic four. That movie was great. Sure it wasn't fulled with action the whole time, but it built up the characters which is vital. I dont' know why everyone hates that movie. All the others I totally agree with. I say that Daredevil is the best of the worst movies.
Never seen any of these.
I'm not really into superhero movies.
steel is such a throwback, it's not even funny.
i thought fantastic 4 was exceptional. batman and robin was definitely crap tho. anyone remember the batman suit with nipples? hilarious
