Over the weekend I stumbled on an old episode of Power Rangers: Jungle Fury, while browsing for something to watch.
Only reason I even stayed on the channel was to see if there were any connections to the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
It brought back a lot of memories, so afterward I came up with 10 reasons why Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was the best TV show I had ever seen growing up. Here they are:
They made wearing tights and a silly helmet seem okay, as long as you were kicking Putty ass
They were a freakin walking museum, summoning ancient dinosaurs to help them in battle
The Pink Ranger was my first TV crush. I think I was 8, so interest in girls was just beginning.
They were ahead of their time. They took commands from a robot and a man with only a face stuck in a tube. (ahem also looked like semen from a sperm bank)
They were freakin Ninjas at heart.
They gave you every reason to kick someone's ass just because you could.
Lord Zed seemed so badass. This was before I knew who Darth Vader was, so Lord Zed was the definition of evil.
Alpha 5 was a souped up version of Johnny 5. I used his trademark "Aye Aye Aye Aye" to annoy the crap out of my parents and teachers.
The toys were to die for.
And last but not least, the intro was amazing. One of the most catchy intros ever!! Check below:
What do you remember about the Power Rangers? Who was your favorite Power Ranger? mancouch.com
You know I'm all grown up now and seeing that intro made me realize how retarded I was when I was young, lol. I caught that show every weekend. I remember thinking how badly I wanted to be the White Ranger, funny stuff.
Did Power_Ranger_Freak submit this?
lol "recruit a team of teenagers with attitudes" thats like all teenagers right? So they didn't have to be special or anything? they just had to have an attitude?
@BeautifulB_227@xanga - you know I never realized that about the show until I started watching the clips and realized how silly that sounds, teenagers with attitude
Oh man that intro reminded me of the good old days(Haha, I say that like it was so long ago). Shows now a days for kids are pretty much crap. Nothing beats the 90s, well for me at least. Oh how I miss being young.
I remember all the little girls at school wanted to be the pretty pink ranger. I had a crush on Jason the red ranger and wanted Jason and Kimberly to be together but she ended up going with Tommy, the white ranger. That sucked but I rushed home to watch. Go-Go Power Rangers.
Oh, I remember I was the pink ranger one Halloween and I was also Wendy from Peter Pan. If anyone cares.
Hell yeah man that was back in the days! Go 90's! I love that intro and your right about the pink ranger. I think she had the most crushes on kid tv ever. I loved the green and white rangers best tho. nothing beats the dino and the sabertoothe! Specially the catchy tone for the green ranger. duuu duu duu dedadu haha. or something like that. thanks for the memorys!
I remember when we used to gossip about the show on the bus. "What do you think of the new Green Ranger??" haha
lol i liked the yellow ranger a lot... (though she wasn't THAT great). . . it was just cool to see an asian chick on tv... for a long time. x]
GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that does bring back a lot of memories... good stuff.
and its true, shows now a days for little kids are just simply horrible compared to the shows they used to put on.
go go power rangers i love this show i dressed up as the red ranger for Halloween as a kid my mom didn't know it was a guy costume
My brother and I grew up with Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. They were the s***. I remember wishing I was the pink ranger and my brother wanting to be the red ranger but then he switched over to wanting to be the white ranger after seeing Tommy's megazord.
Good times. Good times.
that show was retarded. All they did was take footage from a many years prior Japanese tv show and add new insert shots for American audiences. They were a total step back for TV shows here.
Hahaha, I loved the Power Rangers...my brother watches them and I often find myself singing along with the intro songs. xD
And oh,...why did they make the Asian chick dress up in yellow? I call shenanigans.
I used to watch this with my nephews every single afternoon when it was on daily. (That was a long time ago.)
Power Rangers are beast. Definately.
I think I liked Red the best. Tommy. <333 Oh yes.
I also thought it was pretty bad ass how they would just like, jump towards the bad guy and there would be explosions and sparks flying everywhere and they bad guy's would be like "AHHH, NOOOO!!!!" And when the power rangers got hurt, they'd be like, "Oh, ow. My bad. Go on without me. I'll make it through this!" And the other power rangers would be like "NO! We can't leave anyone behind!" And then like, ten minutes later, the hurt power ranger would be up kicking ass again. How cool is THAT?
hahaha
i miss this show :(
The blonde Pink Ranger that succeeded after the first one was awesome by a thousand points because she was what we'd now call the "reformed sinner." I wanted her and the Green Ranger to hook the hell up. Also, the Alpha 5 was a familar impression of my HIspanic friends' mothers...
Wow this made my day =).
I still want to be the Green Ranger.
Wasn't the red one accused of murder or something a little while ago?
i liked the yellow one... =]
I loved the Power Rangers! I always wanted to be the Yellow one because she was Asian. I think she was my first Asian heroine on tv, it was pretty amazing to see her kick ass. I also used to have a major crush on Tommy. I had so many of the toys! I even had the ranger gloves that made the action fighting sounds haha. Kid shows from the 90s were way better than the stuff they show now on Saturday mornings.
