Yesterday, I read a Datingish article that listed five top reasons a couple fights, with the author’s personal examples. It just seems like an excuse to blame guys for arguments when women should also take responsibility.
This was the author's list:
1. Video Games
2. Girls
3. Sex
4. His Falling Asleep
5. Plans
I couldn't believe the reasons for why she was blaming the guy. Here's what every girl should do to avoid any confrontation, even if you're pissed:
Video Games- Just let the man play his games without bothering him. The more a girl bothers a guy about his video games, the more likely he'll continue to play. If a guy bothered her during her favorite shows, that's an instant argument. So, why not respect his private time?
Plus, if he's happy, he's probably more likely to make you happy, too. It's that simple.
Other Girls- There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a guy who admires women and appreciates their beauty. A simple comment about a girl is not going to make him leave you behind and go run off with her. Every guy wants what he can't have, and most times he'll never get it. So, instead of bitching about it, just let it go.
Sex: If both sides don’t put out, then yeah, problems will obviously arise. Instead of complaining all the time about being tired and having headaches, it never hurts to try a little harder.
His falling asleep: Instead of complaining about the guy falling asleep with you on the phone, just cut the convo short. Women always talk about unnecessary things guys don't care about. Cut out all the bullshit and maybe he won't fall asleep on the phone.
Plans: If a girl decides to plan something, it was probably planned months ago, which means there's a chance it could change. So if he doesn't go through with it, it's not a big deal. If life were planned, we'd all be robots. It never hurts to change plans and mix it up. Sometimes you end up having more fun.

Great post! That Datingish post annoyed me, as did the girls who commented about how she was perfectly right and her boyfriend needed to change. Those are all perfectly reasonable things to want to do. She's just way too high maintenance.
You know - in theory, yes, I've found that these areas and your thoughts on them are generally true. But seriously - do you have to whine about it so much? Yeah yeah, more responses when it's in a controversial tone, good for you... Oh, and who's saying we want to avoid confrontation? Sometimes, it's actually enjoyable... like now, when I'm confronting your ridiculous tone.
Either way, ya got a rise out of me.... congrats.
I don't get how girls can just well, pick fights over nothing. I'm so glad I'm not like that. :D
what's there to fix? i let him do what he wants, i pay all the bills, i'm happy to put out whenever he wants, i play video games with him, i like girls too, i don't make plans and i never call.

This post is essentially is just complaining about girls and saying just let guys have their way all the time, and hey, no big deal. But it shouldn't be EITHER way really. Everyone has to give in a relationship. Neither person should be getting exactly what they want all the time, and there should be no reason for either person to get bent out of shape about not getting their way. You can't always get what you want, but it should be worth it if you care about another person enough.
1. VIDEO GAMES - were all the rage in the 1980s. It's now 2009. Let them die a peaceful death and let's get mature already.
2. OTHER GIRLS - You're a damn fool to think your man/husband doesn't look at another female. You look at men. Case closed.
3. SEX - Do what is legal and feels right for both of you. It's a win-win situation. Anything less could be disastrous. Communicate your needs, guys and girls.
4. FALLING ASLEEP - So long as it's not during sex, it's permissable ONLY if he has a full-time job. Men don't give a fig about nail polish or what Cheryl and Nancy fought about. Zzzzzzz.
5. PLANS - Don't make any. Trust me on this one. Be spontaneous. Do things on a whim. Give her flowers on July 9. Take her shopping after a big fight. Make mad, passionate love to her, then do it again. And again.
There are plenty of things I don't agree with about this post. Okay okay... boys will be boys... but too many of my guy friends MISS their 12:30PM class because they can't wake up in time? Are you KIDDING me? It seems to be way too common in guys to be playing video games till 4AM and then I have to hear a "I'm so tired" throughout the day. It's in the girlfriend's best interest to help the males species survive. The end.
Ha. I actually don't think ANY of those issues are a problem for me:
1) I love videogames--probably gotta bug me to get me off it.
2) All's fair as long as he doesn't have issues with me checking out a hottie too.
3) Hmm. Never an issue.
4) Uh, is that after #3? Cause....that's just biologically normal.
5) Spontaneity and flexibility makes life interesting. If chicks have that problem, they can't get irritated when the dude dedicates his plan to friends or whatever.

Foolishly. And besides that, if you want the man to be happy, find one that's right for you, making one be right for you is forcing him to be something he's not, and thus to live a lie. It can't last very long.
VIDEO GAMES- As long as it's not a constant thing. I don't care if my guy plays for an hour or so, but after three hours I start to get pissed. I mean come on, get out of your fantasy world and join me in reality please.
OTHER GIRLS- I don't care if my man checks out other girls, as long as it's not when I'm around and he doesn't say anything to me. I kindly do the same for him.
SEX- If I am not in the mood, then I am not in the mood. Go watch porn. I say this because I very rarely do not want to do it. We do it all the time. But sometimes I don't want to. Take care of it yourself.
FALLING ASLEEP- If it's over the phone, then I'll just hang up and tell you the next day to just tell me when you're tired. If it's after sex, I really don't care as long as my needs were taken care of.
PLANS- I honestly don't care if you change plans. Just let me know you did. Haha. I am all for spontaneous stuff anyway.

That is exactly what I was trying to say, only you said to so much better.
Video games- usually playing video games is the thing I do more than any guy I know. I can spend 6 hours playing a video game. My record was 15 hours.
Other Girls - No way. If a man is telling me that he thinks so and so is hot, it means he likes her better than me, but he's stuck with me because he can't do better. That is not something anyone wants to hear. I do not bitch and raise hell about it, but it leaks over into the next subject...
sex - If a man makes me feel sexy I will be more likely to have sex. If a man treats me like a maid, he better loosen that arm up.
Falling asleep on the phone - I would rather a man just say 'I am tired and need sleep, I am about to fall asleep' than be in the middle of a sentence and hear... ZZZzzzz.... I think men try so hard to figure out how to talk to women without making us angry because of BS female stereotypes, that they forget to try just talking to us. Any woman who raises hell because you are tired and want to go to bed is a nut.
Plans - It depends on the plans. If its a major plan it sucks to cancel after so much planning. If it's a trip to DQ and the movies... Get over it. Reschedule.
