I'm so sick of the whole steroid thing. Most of these guys were using when it was PERFECTLY LEGAL to use steroids in baseball!

They only get into trouble because they lie about it. Hell, if it's legal and my sportdoesn't prohibit it, then I'd be foolish NOT to do steroids or whatever the hell else gives me a professional edge.

Now that steroids are illegal, people might have a right to be upset about someone using them. But almost all of these "confessions" or "perjuries" came AFTER MLB outlawed 'roids.

Oh my god! A-Rod took steroids?!
    I'm shocked!

(Please disregard the overflow of sarcasm above. I'm serious.)

  • Hobo1964@xanga
    Huge Props!

Will A-Rod stay in the game and not take sterodal drugs any time soon?

  • jfmichael@xanga

He only took 'roids so he could better handle Jeter's reach around.

@SwordAndSacrifice@xanga - They're not guilty of perjury because they used steroids. They're guilty of perjury because they lied under oath. Whatever the law is doesn't matter. You lie, you're going to jail. Right, Bill Clinton? Eh he's sleeping during church again.

As long as he can hit a ball a mile and a half every single time at bat.... I don't care if he's using breast milk injected with heroin while have sex with monkeys dressed as a vegas streetwalker

  • SwordAndSacrifice@xanga

@reelthing@xanga - No, I mean, I'm OK with the perjury charges (even though I believe this is an example of selective prosecution).

What bothers me is that fans seem to think Bonds did something wrong in taking the steroids in the first place.

In my opinion, taking steroids at the time Bonds and others were taking them wasn't just an enhancement; it was almost a responsibility.

  • Irish_Russian@xanga

Nope, I wouldn't've forgiven any of them. The league has made it clear that they will  never forgive Shoeless Joe Jackson, and he tried to be honest. None of these guys were even trying.

What else would you expect from a White Sox Fan?

  • Spooky1132@xanga

His giant salary always ran rings around my brain (because I don't know why anyone would pay a player that much) and then this steroid thing pops up? My brain can only take so much.

  • lephonz

it takes more than just steroids to do well in professional baseball. it's not like you or me can take steroids and be an MLB player in a few months and hit 60 home runs.

  • JonHsiung@xanga

If it were possible that taking steroids could allow me to hit a ball consistently that far, then give me the needle right now. Now, as for his extravagant pay - if there is another bidder, you better beat that price if you want the pro player.  It's all about supply and demand.

Yes, there's no excuse for lying, but at least he fessed up - what does it say about the other players with a lot less to lose?
  • Belegost_the_Naugrim@xanga

It doesn't bother me, really.  At the time, what he was doing wasn't illegal, and for years he thought that he was clean.

  • jdizzmufck@xanga
