It was like the flu going around in my school. It was an addiction that I couldn’t run away from. Before I knew it, I had over a 100 pairs of sneakers with no room in my closet.
Each Saturday (when
Jordans released) I went with friends to a spot in Brooklyn to pick up the latest sneakers.
We barely wore the sneakers. It was for collecting purposes only to compete with the many others in our school.
Every month we “reported” back to all the
sneakerheads to see who had the highest and most valued sneakers. At times we even traded sneakers like they were bubble gum baseball cards.
The best part about it was all the girls who would join us.
It’s seems pathetic now but girls would chase any guy with the hottest sneakers, just like gold diggers chasing a rapper or a movie star.
Something about a crispy pair of sneakers just made them drool for the guy.
Did you ever collect anything? If so, what was it? Did it help you get any dates?

Wow that picture has so many shoes! Damn! I have this thing where if I see a nice pair of sunglasses, I have to get them. I collect sunglasses and the great thing is that I have gotten some great compliments from girls.
That's a ridiculous collection. haha.
The last thing I remember collecting were Beanie babies. ;P
now I just collect music.

Right now I collect record albums. I'm up to about 500-600. I love how a lot of the new groups are coming out with their albums on vinyl these days. My most recent vinyl purchase was Beck's Modern Guilt. Cha-mazing. And I do have a bit of a thing for tennies. My most recent purchase was a pair of Ben Sherman front row trainers:

I collect postcards (not it has not help me get a date) it used to be stamps.
beanie babies ... 'til our rabbit peed on some of 'em. then we were like screw it. not worth it.
I collect baseball cards. Fat chance on that helping me get a date, unless she's a J.D. Drew fan.

No, no I don't find men with crisp clean sneakers attractive at all. I find guys with 4 year old Converses attractive. I'M the girl; let ME be the high-maintenance one. Something's wrong if you have more shoes than I do.
