I was browsing through YouTube and came across this clip of Superman and Seinfeld (back when he was still funny) together. I loved Superman growing up, especially those old Christopher Reeve movies. I still have a huge "S" logo poster in my room from 5 years ago.
Everyone I grew up with loved Superman even though there were so many other superheroes. But now I think that has changed. People love troubled heroes like Batman or Iron Man. Maybe it's because people can relate to heroes with problems or ones without superpowers. Whatever it is I'm still sticking with Superman, I mean he is the man of steel. You can never go wrong with the Man of Steel.
Who was your favorite superhero growing up? And why? Are they still your favorite hero?
wow.. first? ^^ i like lot of super heros.. more like i like the power that they have... and if i had to choose one... nightcrawler... with it's super acrobat (sp?) ability and fighting power... and most of all the teleportation... i like this guy ever since the x-men 6 player arcade game...
I always considered Batman to be my favorite Hero. The Cartoons I used to watch back in the early to mid nineties with him and Robin kicked tale in a serious a way.
Plus he seemed more "real" then any of the other Super Hero's that where popular at the time. I hand to endure the "Batman got left in when they were passing out costumes, and super powers"(I think that's how it used to go) from my friends when I was little.
Oh! He also had better villans, in my opinion.
green lantern, ftw!
Mine was spider-man. I think a reason why people don't like Superman is because he tends to be boring. And as we grow up, we tend to see things aren't black and white.
Green Lantern. Anyone can punch the bad guy, or shoot laser beams. It takes an artist to hit the bad guy with a giant green mallet, or throw a green shark at him, or launch an army of green ninjas at him.
BATMAAAN!!! dunununununununu BATMAAAAN!!!
It's a tie between Spider-Man and Batman. I remember going to downtown Medford or Grant's Pass to meet Spider-Man. I got to take a picture with him, and it was just great. I had a Spider-Man bendy figure, so that was an influence on me, as well as the Fox's Spider-Man cartoon in the mid-90's.
I loved Batman because of the animated series. I remember being mad that I couldn't see Batman Returns because a storm knocked out the power at the movie theater. I watched Batman many times on my VCR.
I prefer reading Spider-Man comics to Batman, although there have been some good stories, such as Death In The Family, The Man Who Laughs, and the Killing Joke.
I was pretty pissed as were many fanboys about One More Day and all it did to continuity. I must admit the current Amazing Spider-Man is fun, I just don't know how continuity works anymore. I love reading classic Lee/Ditko Spidey.
Batman R.I.P. is also slightly annoying, as it seems like a retread of Knightfall. What is with DC and trying to make everything feel like the Silver Age or later?
cat woman.
and even though she isn't a hero, but still mighty hot -- harley quinn.
Captain UnderPants! yeah no one really knows what I'm talking about because those books are ancient now, but he has something most super hero's don't have regularly, comedy haha.
Superman.
I always liked Batman. Superman just doesnt do it for me. :| Maybe its the colors. :|
Xo
Batman, one: because my crush in 5th grade liked him. two: because as I grew more emo his darkness grew on me. three: I developed a taste for dark, silent and mysterious men. four: he was the most human. he wasn't from another planet, he alienated himself. He used his own resources to make him stand apart from Gotham and so much more, I could really go into it.
Oh Batman, how you are the true love of my life. *swoons*
Batman. Batman Beyond was especially good.
I grew up with the Ninja Turtles and Batman ... Batman ftw!!! I dunno if it's because they are 'troubled' but more that they are believable ... I mean ... come on ... A guy with xray vision and super strength who came from another world, or one bitten by a radioactive spider? Why didn't the spider become a superhero, huh? Hahahaha, I was never a fan of superman or spiderman (and the movies just enforced it)

Batman. A wealthy bad ass. The very opposite of Spiderman. XD
i've never had a thing for superheroes. i'm more of a mr.bean/spongebob squarepants kind of person.
i hope women are allowed on this site.
im still in the battle between Batman n Superman...though the new batman films are freakin awesome!!!!!
Batman and Iron Man aren't loved bc they are troubled. They are just believable. Not everyone is born with superpowers. That makes it so easy! But they made themselves into superheroes. That's a kind of hero I can get behind. That's a hero you can truly look up to, because it's not completely insane to think that you could be like them one day. They are ordinary people who rock with nothing but intelligence, technology, and good ol' fashion ass whooping.
@Ej_Yuki@xanga - did not realize i just said what you already said. I agree.
batman
I loved Aquaman, even though he was absolutely useless
I used to be (and still am) a HUGE comic book nerd, so I thought that pretty much any superhero was cool.
My favorites were probably Green Lantern, Batman, the X-Men, and of course, Spiderman.
Spiderman is the coolest superhero. EVER.
He's always been easy to relate to, the most down to earth. That's why in my eyes, he will always be the coolest superhero ever.
Superman was cool, but he's too...perfect. Like someone said before, it's too boring and perfect how he was the strongest.
SPIDERMAN FTW
Green Lantern. There was just something magnificent about when he'd charge his power ring and the oath..."In brightest day, in blackest night...
Wolverine!!! He's wild, he has adamantium claws and he heals superfast!!
Batman or Spider-Man.
Batman's human, he tends to walk the line between black and white, and he's a self-made superhero. He didn't just "happen" to have a miraculous superpower, he's just a mortal man with a lot of courage who makes his own toys. And he's hot/mysterious as hell.
Spider-Man is the oft-picked-on geek that, hey, actually can kick some ass after all. I like his witty commentary, too.
I've never liked Superman... he was just too "super". If a character doesn't really have any weaknesses, he's no fun to follow (and don't give me that Kryptonite crap, like one extremely rare rock makes up for the fact that Superman is virtually invincible without it?). Also, he's an alien. Wtf man? We don't have a single superhero from Earth who can save the planet?
